The age of A . . .

The age of A . . .

Wikipedia ‘wisdom’

The Age of Aquarius, in astrology, is either the current or forthcoming astrological age, depending on the method of calculation. Astrologers maintain that an astrological age is a product of the earth’s slow precessional rotation and lasts for 2,160 years, on average (one Great Year equals 25,920-year period of precession / 12 zodiac signs = 2,160 years).

There are various methods of calculating the boundaries of an astrological age. In sun-sign astrology, the first sign is Aries, followed by Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces, whereupon the cycle returns to Aries and through the zodiacal signs again. Astrological ages proceed in the opposite direction (“retrograde” in astronomy). Therefore, the Age of Aquarius follows the Age of Pisces.

I will not pretend to understand anything of astrology and astronomy, except knowing that they are not the same at all. But according to some calculations the age of Aquarius seems to have started. I say ‘seems’ because there are many different views on the start date. Some say it already started in 1844, others say the Age of Aquarius has arrived in the 20th century (29 claims), but also the 24th century is mentioned quite a few times (12 claims). So, the start of the Age of Aquarius already is confusing and not helpful for what to believe, and if it is something to believe at all is another thing ; )

What it means

Wikipedia wisdom again

Astrologers believe that an astrological age affects humanity, possibly by influencing the rise and fall of civilizations or cultural tendencies. Traditionally, Aquarius is associated with electricity, computers, flight, democracy, freedom, humanitarianism, idealism, modernization, astrology, nervous disorders, rebellion, nonconformity, philanthropy, veracity, perseverance, humanity, and irresolution.

A common position expressed by many astrologers sees the Age of Aquarius as that time when humanity takes control of the Earth and its own destiny as its rightful heritage, with the destiny of humanity being the revelation of truth and the expansion of consciousness, and that some people will experience mental enlightenment in advance of others and therefore be recognised as the new leaders in the world.

It is not so difficult to link all of these keywords to our present time. But I suppose I would have said the same when I would have been writing this 50 years ago. The world always is full of movement and nothing happens in an isolated state. Also, many things happen repeatedly and every generation faces likewise challenges, just with new elements in it all the time due to for instance technology evolving. Besides, it is fairly easy to assign all kind of meanings to something that never will deliver hard data and can have multiple and very personal interpretations. The Age of Aquarius does not really speak to me is what I am saying I guess. Or at least not in the way as it being some sort of oracle, with future forecasts and such. I do not deny the presence of changes, but that hardly can be assigned to astrology solely or at all. Change simply is the nature of mankind. Mankind is both cause and effect of changes, and not only good ones.

Does it really matter?

For me it is like the weather. It can be a rainy day, yet you have a sunny mood, or the other way around. The weather itself does not predict or cause your mood. It even can contradict with it. If we live, or are are about to live in the Age of Aquarius, it will be nothing we can take as a kind of weather forecast to prepare ourselves. A storm will do what it wants to do anyway on a mental level, as will all other conditions. Even if we are given information and time to prepare for changes, we mess up more than make good use of it. If there is one thing more clear than ever, it is how incredibly poor humans are in preparing and monitoring themselves, even with full knowledge and in full conscience and consciousness of facts. Denial of Covid 19 and the almost surreal recent USA events (The Capitol insurrection) probably being the biggest examples of how stupid humans can be when they don’t check information, start to believe in lies and make it their holy truth. My faith in humans never has been high in general (exceptions there. . .) but the last, say 12 months, have not really improved that.

So, does it really matter if I would believe in the Age of Aquarius, and if it stands for a certain change, positive or negative? Not really is what I think. I (have to) believe more in what I hear and see right here and now: humans destructing all they can destruct. Only some of them later will see they should not have made that choice. But in many cases that will be a too late awakening of their spirit. Damage done. Others continuing their mission. It also is a bit easy, to only after a massive mistake see/confess how it all should have been done different, after first almost destructing all. To then suddenly say  . . ‘Oops, sorry’ is in many cases just hypocrite, with an exception for the truly blind ones with sincere regrets. Some are easy to mislead I suppose, or not smart enough to understand what is happening, so yes that I get, but the ones who lead and push and intimidate and provoke those people for their own sick agenda full of dangerous and hateful ideas, are complete morons, totally responsible for being evil. The sad thing is how brainwashed people will stick to their believes, no matter the consequence, no matter any proof of being wrong. They stay a weapon of destruction for years and years, prepared to die for their truth and drilled to feel no mercy or empathy for victims they made or will make. They rather spread their personal hate and distrust than be in any way modest and open minded for new truths, because this way of being provides them a way of life, a feeling of power, a way to be seen and heard and a feeling of safety and support by their leaders. They have become a clan with no space for anything else than their mission. Orcs  . . . . mindless battle machines.

Apart from believing in what I see and hear right here and now as our disconcerting reality, I (have to) believe in more.  If I would not, I would downgrade all of humanity to some sort of primitive beast. I think we are close to that, but also have hopes on people who still have their head screwed on in a different way. So, here we go:

  • I believe in the power of the people that still believe in making the world a better place.
  • I believe in people who do not need violence and shouts.
  • I believe in people who do not need ego and pride.
  • I believe in people who can just act on what they say without having to show that off on some silly social media platform.
  • I believe in people who don’t wallow in shameless self-admiration.
  • I believe in people who still live below the radar of the big tech companies and quietly rule the world in their own way.
  • I believe in people who don’t masturbate on public attention and public recognition.
  • I believe in people who do not need to flirt with other person’s merits to make a statement.
  • I believe in people who don’t need a kingdom or palace to have authority.
  • I believe in support and stand strong for what really matters.
  • I believe in keeping your shit together instead of blaming others for your shit.
  • I believe in people who build instead of ruining it all just because you can.
  • I believe in the world deserving better attention and care.
  • I believe in kindness and sharing.
  • I believe in love and care.

Etcetera, etcetera
See? It does not matter if we are yes or no in an age of Aquarius.
Believing that does not make a difference or change.
It matters to be of help to each other and the world.
In whatever age of whatever zodiac

Virtual worlds

When I think of virtual worlds in the context of today’s subject, and especially Second Life, because that’s the one I choose to spend time in, it makes me sad and happy both. Sad, because even in a world that should be free of problems like we encounter them in RL, people mess up dramatically. The many battles and the presence of envy and even hate do not really give much hope on virtual worlds being a better place. Since they are the same humans behind that RL screen, it also is not to be expected of course, but still, somehow it makes no sense that even in a world of avatars people find it necessary to attack, insult, ban, harass and more. A legitimate reason could be it is a reaction on someone else’s acts, but it stays pathetic, right? Zoom out and look how completely ridiculous it is. And nope, not being free of sins in that myself either. I’m not good with just anyone too. I have to stay away from certain persons apparently and they from me. Self-protection as excuse? I guess, but it stays poor we need that. Still it also makes me happy, to have a world like Second Life. Because it grants me a carefree space as well, despite the less carefree surprises lingering around or waiting to jump on me like a little predator. I can do silly things inworld, use creative skills for things I like, talk with nice friends and be close with a few I call the more special friends. I can just sit at what I call home or elsewhere and immerse in the magic of a landscape and atmosphere. It is a world where RL can be put on hold a bit and where you can allow yourself to dream away without having to worry on having to ‘deliver’.  With that I mean you can be free, or at least should be free of feeling obligated to do things or present yourself in a way others like to see of you.

Carefree company ; )

Reboot

To enter the world of Second Life or any other virtual world, it needs a reboot of the program you use to login. To connect and disconnect from a world and reboot it on every new entrance, would be not so bad for RL too. Refresh your status and way of being is what we do in our sleep of course, so that can be seen as logout maybe, but I mean to say we also should clean cache a bit more often . . . erase our rubbish and noise and polluted views. Tell ourselves what is nice to keep and what should be binned or reviewed. We do dishes as well after all, because we like a fresh plate for our meals. Why not a fresh mind too  . . .  to not get that issue a computer sometimes gets when tortured too much and too long. Defrag, clean and reboot a mind is not so simple no. Ignoring to organise it is easier we tell ourselves. But that’s not true really. Because when you never defrag and clean, you one day will not be able to reboot properly anymore. Then you are in real trouble, because no such thing as a backup for your own mind, let alone the availability of a repair set to restore a previous state of mind before your collapse with the troubled one. The work and effort needed to get things ok again after such an event  . . . . .

Inspiration

I may not be a big believer in an Age of Aquarius, I do believe in the world and us being in a big change with also big consequences. I have been reading this article last week and can find myself ok with most of it. Awareness is something we always should have, but it feels like urgent more than before. So, to call this year an Age of Awareness I actually do support. It may well be the most needed ‘thing’ in 2021. Read below if interested what inspired me to write this blog:

Conclusion

Hmmm, nothing really impressive or grand. Just keep it cool and calm and reasonable. Don’t lose yourself in mind games or any kind of manipulative Messiahs. Believe in yourself as the only one to really change things, but don’t do it at the cost of others. Enjoy your life and make it sweet, loving and caring as much as you can. Work with each other and not against each other. Reboot yourself when needed and avoid the blue screen. An aurora screen is nicer, hence the pics I used for this blog and the short Gyazo below ; )  Never seen for real alas (yet), but one the most fascinating phenomena I can think of.

Thank you for sharing this food for thought! Love your concept of sleeping to defrag and consciously erase mind pollution…perhaps a focused meditation before sleep….

      Thank you ^^
And yes that’s exactly the sort of thing I mean.
Question our own stuff and act on it when it’s in need of maintenance ; ))))
      Meditation/focus/talk with oneself, etc.
